Goddesses of the Dawn by Lawrence Durdin-Robertson

Just published - an excerpt from the book Juno Covella by Lawrence Durdin-Robertson - Goddesses of the Dawn. This is the first of a series of four selections that will be added to the site. They are taken from Section VII. Goddesses of the Hours of the Day. The four excerpts will focus on the times of the ‘gateways’ - dawn, dusk, noon and midnight. Each selection will be accompanied by original art by Olivia Robertson - some never before published. The Goddesses of the Dawn is accompanied by Olivia’s original drawing, “Goddess of the Awakening Sun”.

Heru Birthday Celebration

Come celebrate the birth of the son of Isis, the falcon-headed neter, Heru, who is encompasses the symbology of the majestic nature of the sun and the soaring falcon and hawks in the heavens.

The will be a modernized rite based on ancient festivities to commemorate the birth of Heru. (Note: Horus, Greek, Heru, Egyptian, also other spellings) We will invoke the seven ancient planets, going into a trance and have an oracle of the Divine Mother and the Divine Son.

According to Stephen Mehler in his book, "The Land of Osiris" and based upon oral indigenous traditions within Egypt, the named Heru or Hor meant the perfected man and thus Hathor would mean the perfected woman. Also to elaborate on his definition it would also mean a person who had a "flowering of senses" and attained a "degree of enlightenment". It also denotes a state of advanced consciousness.

This rite has mutliple meanings and will have a pyramid altar, the sacred number seven (also sacred in the Pythagorean Mysteries), and the sacred Apis Bull and Heavenly Mother Cow Goddess Hathor/Nuit.

Lyceum of the Goddess of the Grail - The Goddess of Silence has a new website.

This lyceum was founded by Prs. H. Dianne M. Laramee of Southern Ontario, Canada. Dianne has been offering a very successful program of study within the Fellowship of Isis.

Diane writes: "Working with my belief, that the meaning of life is different for everyone..."Not just a little different, but like a fingerprint"... guidance provided is to assist in living a simplified, meaningful and purposeful life based on your own signature strengths, values and priorities. Iseum of Eleusis, Hearth of the Goddess

It is now the intention of so many iseum founders to hold their gatherings in their own homes.

Olivia Robertson notes that the original intention of Lawrence, Pamela, and herself was to return the Hearth Fire of the Goddess to the home. Under patriarchy, their followers were forced to build churches and halls at great expense to keep priestesses from power.

Now the financial climate makes a return to the Hearth for ceremonies appropriate. Many conventions already do this, including those held in Clonegal Castle.

Founders of FOI centers who would like to join this return to the Hearth Fire may list their participation under the heading of The Vestal Flame.

Le'ema Kathleen Graham Comes to the Goddess Temple

On August 22, Priestess and Author Le'ema Kathleen Graham will be presenting during the Sunday Services at the Goddess Temple of Orange County. Later in the week on Thursday, August 26, she will present a yoga and dance workshop. Le'ema is a featured presenter at the annual FOI Convocation at Isis Oasis in Geyserville, her dance embodies the Goddess perfectly during the opening ceremonies every year. She is author of "Dancing the Inner Serpent" which is her spiritual autobiography, and the CDs "Snake Yoga" and "Dances of the Sacred Serpent." For all those in the area, this is an event not to be missed!

In Memory of Isaac Bonewits

Isaac Bonewits passed on August 12, 2010.

Thank you, Isaac Bonewits, for sharing so much, for giving of yourself so freely. May you find peace, joy and happiness on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.

Isaac was a long time member of the Fellowship of Isis. He spent time with FOI Co-Founder Olivia Robertson and Caroline Wise at the Parliament of World Religions in Chicago, 1993. Caroline writes: "He was very entertaining, a mercurial mind, a good memory."

He found his own way, his own connection and shared unselfishly. His life served as a shining example of what FOI Co-Founder Olivia Robertson always says we should do - express our "own ideals and faith ... FOI is for the individual - not the individual submerged in the group!"

An ongoing and totally free event, open to the public, held every Sunday from 2pm - 4pm. There is no sermon, yet a Priestess or Priest of Isis will be in attendance to guide each Sunday afternoon. Begin with private meditation in the small Temple (Isis Chapel) or on the grounds under the sacred 600 year old tree. There will be time to visit the animals and birds that live at Isis Oasis to get in touch with the beauty of nature first-hand and close up.

At 3pm on Sundays we hold non-denominational services in the Grand Temple (Open to all). The program of the day can take many forms - video, song, dance, readings - all selected for its pertinence to our topic. Afterwards, we gather in the Pavilion for tea at 4pm and a discussion of a universal topic - all will be invited to participate and share equally.

Temple of Isis-Utah Round Table III & Triple Moon Ritual

Location: Private Residence in Layton, Utah by Layton Hills Mall

The evening will begin with discussing the upcoming Temple of Isis Utah plans and giving feedback on Sothis and insight on Imsety, one of the Four Sons of Heru, and discussing the Goddess Ngame and the Fellowship of Isis Rite. Following the Temple of Isis Utah with the Iseum of Muth will perform the FOI Drama "Magical Journey to the Triple Moon. 2nd Sphere. Oracle of Ngame" by Lady Olivia Robertson.

The night will include a community feast. Please bring a vegetarian dish possibly will some lunar or white food symbolism to shine in the moonlight. There is a beautiful lunar feast mentioned in Dion Fortune's Epic Novel: "The Sea Priestess".

FOI Germany - Seminars and Classes

From Linda Iles: The FOI Germany website was created by Rt. Rev. Claudia Wehmeyer and Rt. Rev. Thomas Wehmeyer. Their "Cybertemple of the Goddess of Ten Thousand Names" was first published to the internet in 1997. It was one of the earlier FOI related websites. Claudia and Thomas are the founders of The Nemeton of Dana and Tara Hedge College in Germany. After a recent overhaul of their website, it was republished to the internet with the domain name of http://www.isis-kolleg.de/indexfoid.htm

Claudia and Thomas have worked for many years establishing a viable and strong community of FOI members and centres, particularly in Germany and Switzerland. They offer training and workshops regularly throughout the year, along with correspondence courses for FOI Iseums, Lyceums and the Druid Clan of Dana. They produced a Goddess themed publication “Zeit der Goettin” (Time of the Goddess) and “Hinkelstein” (Megalith). Presently they are publishing “Heckenkurier” (Hedge Messenger), also a Goddess themed magazine. They have hosted the annual Symphony for the Goddess, an FOI gathering which received international attendance, and included featured presentations by FOI co-founder Olivia Robertson and Caroline Wise of London.

Writer, Poet and Esoteric Explorer

Alex Langstone describes himself as “a writer, poet and esoteric explorer, walking between many worlds. Loving wild open spaces, ancient sites, the dark bitter sea, infinite stars infinite space, the green man, Isis, folklore, mountains, gothic cathedrals, psychic questing, moonlight, sunsets, chocolate, cats, esoterica, druidry and earth mysteries.”

He is a long time member and priest within the FOI. In October 2009 he was appointed as a founding member of the ArchDruid Union of the Fellowship of Isis. He has several wonderful offerings on the web, which are sure to illumine and inspire.
